Lesson 3: Part 2
Getting to Know the Ministry Website
In this section, we will be going over some of information available to you at the Ministry of Education’s website. As it is this ministry that mandates your graduation requirements, it is a great place for you to go to get information that may help you with your decisions in the grad program.
The BC Ministry of Education
If you live in British Columbia, the Ministry of Education for the province has assigned you a Pupil Education Number (PEN) and begins to officially track your progress in Grade 10. As a BC student, your main school is called your ‘School of Record’ and they are responsible for submitting your course grades to the Ministry so they can update your file. You can access a section on their main website and see a Trax report of courses you have credit for and your grades on any Provincial exams you have taken.
To familiarize yourself with what is available to you at the BC Ministry of Education’s website, the remainder of the time you spend in this lesson part will be completing the lesson assignment. You will learn by doing! Off you go!
